VADYAM MUSEUM OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

Unique of its own kind, Vadyam Museum of musical instruments comprises mainly of instruments used in folk and classical music in India. Instruments such as kamaichya, ravanhathha, Sindhi sarangi, jogia sarangi, chikara, iktara, surinda, naagphani, and many more are displayed in the museum. Surbahar Made by S A Rehman and sons which were once practiced in Madras dynasty and later in Gwalior darbar and Baba Allaudin Khan’s esraj and are also a part of this eminent collection. Additions to this already vibrant bunch are western instruments hang drum and royal standard accordion that make the museum even richer.

Established in 1998, the museum has a collection of more than 500 documented musical instruments and their accessories. The museum has been mapped with “Museums of India“. Few of the instruments can be viewed from here

NAD-SADHNA INSTITUTE FOR INDIAN MUSIC AND RESEARCH CENTRE is a place where researchers in music education, professionals in related fields, as well as undergraduate, post graduate and PhD scholars, students and enthusiasts, can get together in a virtual exchange of information and knowledge in the field of Music Education and Musical Performance. Besides, our purpose is to work in areas as diverse as academic research, music and sound production, exhibition services, and the delivery of cinematic, music, and arts events. Nad Sadhna was founded in 2010 and is based in Jaipur, the city better described as the cultural capital of the Country. Having dedicated study facilities, extensive holdings of published and unpublished materials (books, journal and newspaper articles, scores and recordings), collections of recorded music and an audio visual laboratory.
