Folk Dances of Bihar

Folk Dances of Bihar: The more popular folk dances in Bihar are ‘Jadur Lok Nritya’ and’ Santhal Lok Nritya’.

Jadur Lok Nritya is performed in the spring season and is a dance of gaiety and excitement. It is performed by both men and women. Once a movement with speed is performed by men, the women repeat the same.

The folk dance of the Santhal tribe of Bihar has its own place. It begins with the beating of Dhol and Nagaras on the full moon day. The young men sing and the girls dance.
