Nad Sadhna - Institute for Indian Music & Research Centre In collaboration with the Jaipur Maharashtra Mandal, Jaipur will be presenting Baithak Recitals on 17th February 2020, 6:30 PM at Krishnayan auditorium, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur. Baithak will begin with the Sitar recital by Mrs. Amruta Kulkarni followed by her presentation on “Bandish on instruments with special focus on Sitar” where she will be talking about different kinds of instrumental compositions with special reference to Sitar bandish.
The next artist, Pt. Shashikant Tambe will be performing Vocal recital. He will also be performing Natya Sangeet which is his speciality.
Both the artists will be accompanied by Ustad Nisar Hussain on Tabla and Shri Giriraj Balodiya on Harmonium.
Mrs. Amruta Kulkarni is a beautiful and talented Sitar Player from Itawah Imdadkhani Gharana. She started her training in music and especially in Sitar under the guidance of Mrs Shubhada Lagoo and late Shri Ramesh Bhosale from Sangli. In 1992, Amruta started her advanced training in Sitar under the guidance of Sitar Maestro, Padma Bhushan Pt. Arvind Parikh, the senior-most disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khan. She performed at several prestigious musical events including Saptak, Ahemdabad, Lonavala – Khandala Sangeet Sammelan, ‘Guru Tarpan’ Jaipur and all over the country. Apart from her musical skills, she is a civil engineer, completed her B.E. from Walchand College of Engineering.
Pt Shashikant Tambe developed his initial interest in music from his mother, Late Smt. Nalinee Tambe. He later receives his advanced guidance from Pt. Krishnarao Mujumdar (Mamasaheb) from Ustad Rajab Ali Khan’s lineage. He was awarded by the first President of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad. He is established as “A” grade artist by All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan (TV). He has performed in multiple national programmes as well as Abroad which includes – Sawai Gandharva, Tansen Samroha, NCPA, Malwa Utsav, Bharat Bhavan, Saptak to name a few. He has been awarded several prestigious awards by various established organisations. Apart from his mastery in classical singing, he had done Master of Science from Holkar Science College, Indore. He is a doctorate in Chemistry and has been a professor of chemistry.
Baithak by these two soulful performers will be an authentic and guiding session to all the inspiring musicians.
